Call your business number from another phone
Answering Agent listens for the call. When your agent picks up, the phone numbers step in your dashboard turns green.
Vonage Business does not publish a dial code for forwarding. Use the steps above.
Good to know
- Vonage recommends no more than 4 rings before forwarding to a mobile number, or the VBC Mobile App and the forwarded call can both ring at once.
- Calls forwarded to international numbers or areas outside the plan incur additional charges.
- No star/dial codes for forwarding are documented on Vonage’s own support pages; forwarding is configured only in the Admin Portal or Online Account settings.
Move your number
Start the move from Dashboard, then Phone numbers, then Add a number, and choose Move my number. Upload your latest bill and we read the details for you. Have these ready:Watch out for
- Vonage’s port-away process is really an account-cancellation scheduling step: sign in to the Admin Portal and pick a future cancellation date aligned to your billing date; the numbers transfer whenever the new carrier’s port completes.
- Phone numbers cannot transfer after the Vonage account is canceled — if the port isn’t done by the chosen date, you must go back into the Admin Portal and push the cancellation date later.
- Vonage Business service is not automatically canceled just because the numbers ported away without notice, which can cause continued billing.
- Cancellation fees may apply if the transfer happens before the end of a term contract.
