Forwarding codes are confirmed on official Frontier help/PDF pages (high confidence). Frontier’s own account-number and porting-PIN pages did not render usable body content through automated fetch (JS-gated), and third-party sites (not Frontier’s own domain) are the only source for account-number placement and a 4-digit PIN claim, so those fields are left null per the no-guessing rule. The freeze/initiation gotcha is sourced from CenturyLink’s identical page text, since Frontier’s own transfer-number page carries the same boilerplate language as CenturyLink/Brightspeed (shared industry template) but the specific Frontier URL did not return readable content in this session — treat this gotcha as directionally correct but not independently confirmed on frontier.com. Good to know
- Frontier’s own Calling Features page and Fiber Digital Voice User Guide document only unconditional Call Forwarding (*72/*73) and portal-based Selective Call Forwarding — no separate busy or no-answer star codes are published for this product, so those fields are left null rather than guessed.
- Frontier notes that in some legacy copper markets (parts of Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Alabama, and Wisconsin) the code format may be 72#/73# instead of *72/*73.
Move your number
Start the move from Dashboard, then Phone numbers, then Add a number, and choose Move my number. Upload your latest bill and we read the details for you. Have these ready:Watch out for
- Frontier’s official ‘Transfer Your Number’ page states that if Frontier has placed a Local Carrier Change Freeze on the account to protect against unauthorized transfers, the customer must contact Frontier to have it removed before the new carrier can transfer the number.
- The new carrier initiates the port with Frontier — Frontier does not start the process.
