Forwarding codes are confirmed on Kinetic Business’s own support page (medium-high confidence for the codes themselves, but note the unusual trailing-# format and market variation documented by Kinetic itself). No official Kinetic-branded page documents the port-out account number, PIN, or timeline, so those fields are null; the Windstream Enterprise/Uniti porting guide found in search results was deliberately not used because it documents a different corporate entity’s process, not Kinetic’s. Forward calls
1
Pick up the handset
On the line to forward, lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
2
Dial 72#
This is the Call Forwarding activation code documented for Kinetic Business local phone service.
3
Dial the destination number
Enter the phone number to which you want calls forwarded.
4
Confirm activation
If the call is answered, Call Forwarding is in effect. If not answered, repeat the dial steps.
5
Deactivate when done
Listen for dial tone and press 73# — you’ll hear two short tones followed by dial tone.
6
Call your business number from another phone
Answering Agent listens for the call. When your agent picks up, the phone numbers step in your dashboard turns green.
Good to know
- Kinetic Business’s own ‘Features and Information of Local Phone’ page documents the code with a trailing # (72#/73#) and notes that some markets instead require a leading # (#72/#73) — availability varies by market.
- Only unconditional Call Forwarding (72#/73#) and a selective feature called ‘Preferred Call Forwarding’ (*63, routes only calls from a stored list) are documented; no separate busy or no-answer forwarding star code is published, so those fields are left null.
- Remote access to Call Forwarding does not work while Preferred Call Forwarding is active, per Kinetic’s own notes.
Move your number
Start the move from Dashboard, then Phone numbers, then Add a number, and choose Move my number. Upload your latest bill and we read the details for you. Have these ready:Watch out for
- No official Kinetic by Windstream page describing a customer-facing port-out procedure, PIN, or timeline was found; a ‘porting guide’ exists at windstreamenterprise.com, but that domain belongs to Uniti Solutions/Windstream Enterprise — the larger carrier/wholesale business that was legally separated from the Kinetic consumer/small-business brand — so it was not used as a source for Kinetic here.
