Two ways to get your GoTo Connect number to your agent. Forwarding keeps GoTo Connect as your phone company and sends calls over. Moving the number (porting) makes Answering Agent your phone company for that number.

Forward calls

1

Dial the star code

From your desk phone, desktop app, or mobile app, dial *72.
2

Enter the destination

When you hear a dial tone, enter the internal extension or external phone number to forward calls to.
3

Hang up

Forwarding is now active and overrides any forwarding set from the phone’s own menu; it stays active even if the phone goes offline.
4

Turn it off later

Dial *73 from the same phone and hang up.
5

(Admin alternative)

Instead of star codes, an admin can set up a personalized dial plan or a forwarding dial plan in the GoTo Admin portal to route a line automatically to an external number.
6

Call your business number from another phone

Answering Agent listens for the call. When your agent picks up, the phone numbers step in your dashboard turns green.

Good to know

  • If the system admin has Block Caller ID enabled on the line, caller ID remains blocked even when forwarding to an external number.

Move your number

Start the move from Dashboard, then Phone numbers, then Add a number, and choose Move my number. Upload your latest bill and we read the details for you. Have these ready:
Do not cancel your service with GoTo Connect until the move is complete. A cancelled number can be lost.

Watch out for

  • Setting or viewing the port-out passcode requires the super admin role.
  • You must supply this exact passcode any time you request a port away from GoTo Connect; an incorrect business name or passcode can cause the current provider to reject or delay the port.
  • There are three separate places the passcode can live (GoTo Admin, the legacy my.jive.com/pbx portal, or GoTo’s numbers@goto.com team) — check which applies to your account.
