Two ways to get your Comcast Business VoiceEdge number to your agent. Forwarding keeps Comcast Business VoiceEdge as your phone company and sends calls over. Moving the number (porting) makes Answering Agent your phone company for that number.
Portal steps and star codes are confirmed verbatim on an official Comcast Business VoiceEdge support article (high confidence), including screenshots. Porting-specific facts (PIN’s exact use for port-out, timelines, LOA) are not documented on an official page and are left null or noted as inferred from the shared Comcast Business Voice PIN policy. Forward calls

1

Sign in to My Account

Go to business.comcast.com/myaccount and select Business VoiceEdge User from your subscribed services.
2

Open Call Forwarding settings

Expand Feature Settings and select Call Forwarding — this single menu manages all forwarding types.
3

Turn on Call Forwarding Always

Toggle it on, select the pencil icon to enter the destination phone number or extension, and confirm with the checkmark.
4

Repeat for Busy and No Answer if needed

Toggle Call Forwarding Busy and Call Forwarding No Answer on separately and enter a destination number for each.
5

Or use phone star codes

From the handset, dial *72 and follow the voice prompts to activate Call Forwarding Always, or *73 to deactivate.
6

Call your business number from another phone

Answering Agent listens for the call. When your agent picks up, the phone numbers step in your dashboard turns green.

Good to know

  • Deactivate Call Forwarding Busy with *91 and Call Forwarding No Answer with *93.
  • VoiceEdge also has Call Forwarding Not Reachable (outage failover) and Call Forwarding Selective, both managed only through the portal rather than star codes.
  • If the My Account screen doesn’t match, use the alternate path: My Account > Business VoiceEdge > search for the seat under Users or Numbers and Devices > Call Forwarding tab.

Move your number

Start the move from Dashboard, then Phone numbers, then Add a number, and choose Move my number. Upload your latest bill and we read the details for you. Have these ready:
Do not cancel your service with Comcast Business VoiceEdge until the move is complete. A cancelled number can be lost.

Watch out for

  • Comcast does not publish a self-serve customer port-out flow for VoiceEdge; the new carrier requests the Customer Service Record (CSR) through Comcast’s carrier-facing Port Authorization Tool (PAT).
  • VoiceEdge Select (a related but distinct product) was discontinued July 8, 2022 — new VoiceEdge customers are provisioned on Business VoiceEdge instead.
