# T-Mobile for Business

> How to forward T-Mobile for Business calls to Answering Agent and how to move your T-Mobile for Business number over.

Two ways to get your T-Mobile for Business number to your agent. Forwarding keeps T-Mobile for Business as your phone company and sends calls over. Moving the number (porting) makes Answering Agent your phone company for that number.

<Note>The business release path and phone number are read verbatim from T-Mobile's business Port Out Protection page. Forwarding codes are inherited from the shared short codes page, which does not separate business lines. T-Mobile publishes no business-specific PIN expiry or completion timeline. Checked 2026-09-11.</Note>

## Forward calls

| Action                      | Dial                  |
| --------------------------- | --------------------- |
| Forward all calls           | `**21*1+PhoneNumber#` |
| Stop forwarding             | `##21#`               |
| Forward when no one answers | `**61*1+PhoneNumber#` |
| Forward when busy           | `**67*1+PhoneNumber#` |

</Steps>

### Good to know

* T-Mobile does not publish a business-specific forwarding code set. The short codes page is shared.
* Short codes are mostly delivered to the primary SIM only and may not work on DIGITS lines, which matters for businesses using DIGITS for shared numbers.

## Move your number

Start the move from **Dashboard**, then **Phone numbers**, then **Add a number**, and choose **Move my number**. Upload your latest bill and we read the details for you. Have these ready:

| What the carrier asks for | Where to find it |

| Account number | On your T-Mobile account or on your bill. |
| Transfer PIN | Yes. A Temporary Port Out PIN is still required. If Port Out Protection is on the line, T-Mobile for Business does not release it self-service: an authorized user calls T-Mobile Customer Care at 1-877-347-2127 to authorize the port, then gives the number to the new provider. |
| Unlock first | Yes. Port Out Protection is free on T-Mobile for Business accounts and is set per line. For business lines, an authorized user must call Customer Care at 1-877-347-2127 to release the line. T-Mobile states the protection can be removed at any time by calling. |
| Extra signed authorization | No                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  |
| How long it takes | T-Mobile for Business does not publish a time. Most moves finish in 7 to 10 business days. |

<Warning>Do not cancel your service with T-Mobile for Business until the move is complete. A cancelled number can be lost.</Warning>

### Watch out for

* The business path is a phone call, not a self-service toggle. Budget for hold time rather than assuming you can do it in the portal at 6pm.
* Port Out Protection is per line, so a multi-line business has to release each line it wants to move.
* You still need the account number, the Temporary Port Out PIN, and the account PIN or passcode.
* Government accounts have to contact T-Mobile to start the process at all.
* T-Mobile publishes no business-specific port-out completion time.
