# Ooma Office

> How to forward Ooma Office calls to Answering Agent and how to move your Ooma Office number over.

Two ways to get your Ooma Office number to your agent. Forwarding keeps Ooma Office as your phone company and sends calls over. Moving the number (porting) makes Answering Agent your phone company for that number.

<Note>Forwarding and star codes verified on Ooma pages; port-out details are not published for Office. Checked 2026-09-11.</Note>

## Forward calls

| Action            | Dial  |
| ----------------- | ----- |
| Forward all calls | `*72` |
| Stop forwarding   | `*73` |

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sign in at office.ooma.com as an admin and open Settings">
    Click the user’s line, then the Call Forwarding tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set call forwarding to Enabled">
    Enabled forwards every call. None of the user’s devices ring until it is disabled.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter Maggie’s number and save">
    Or from any Ooma phone dial \*72, wait for the prompt, dial the number, then #.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Call your business number from another phone">
    We are listening for it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Call your business number from another phone">
    Answering Agent listens for the call. When your agent picks up, the phone numbers step in your dashboard turns green.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Good to know

* \*74 toggles forwarding on and off once configured.
* In the end-user portal, turn on Require key press on answer so a cell voicemail cannot swallow the call.

## Move your number

Start the move from **Dashboard**, then **Phone numbers**, then **Add a number**, and choose **Move my number**. Upload your latest bill and we read the details for you. Have these ready:

| What the carrier asks for | Where to find it |
| ------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Account number | Not published by Ooma Office. It is on your bill, or ask their support. |
| Transfer PIN | Not published by Ooma Office. Ask their support whether a PIN is needed. |
| How long it takes | Ooma Office does not publish a time. Most moves finish in 7 to 10 business days. |

<Warning>Do not cancel your service with Ooma Office until the move is complete. A cancelled number can be lost.</Warning>

### Watch out for

* Ooma publishes no Office port-out page; the only porting-away page is residential and covers cancellations and refunds.
* Do not cancel Ooma before the port completes.
